The term “dessert tea” is generally applied to blended teas and tisanes (a.k.a. herbal infusions) that are sweet, like a dessert! These blends often contain toothsome ingredients like caramel, vanilla, mint, cinnamon, nuts, and dried fruits, and are generally made to appeal to new tea drinkers, or those who drink tea for fun and not the immense cultural aspects that can be a part of tea. There are plenty of great dessert tea varieties flavored with fruit, nuts, spices and other aromatics, as well as caramels and nuts that are often made with Rooibos, black tea, green tea, and white tea leaves as a base. These teas are low in calories and low in sugar, but you still get to enjoy dessert as well.
