What is a “Scented Tea”?

Scented Tea:

Scented tea is a tea that has been infused with the scent of highly aromatic flowers and or fruits that is almost exclusively found from Chinese tea producers. The most famous of scented teas are the Chinese Jasmine  teas (like our Jamine Green tea, Dragon Phoenix Pearls, Jasmine Peach Blssom Flowering Tea, and  White Jasmine Moon Flowering Tea).

Scented teas found at Sereni-tea:

Lichee Black tea: a black tea scented with the whole Lychee fruits; a knobbly red fruit found in China that you eat the white sweet fruit inside.

OP-Rose Black Tea: scented with very fragrant Rose petals, that are removed after the scenting process. Some are usually left in the tea for decorative purposes.

Lapsang Souchong Black Tea: The tea leaves, after production are moved into smoking sheds, where the tea is heavily smoked over hot pine fires to imbue the leaf with the smokey flavor. It is drunk without anything added to it!

Milky Oolong: a very light Oolong tea that, instead steamed over water to release the enzymes, is steamed over milk. This leaves the tea leaves with a very buttery and creamy scent and flavor.

Jasmine Green Tea: spring green tea leaves that are prepared and crated until the summer blooming Jasmine can be added for the scenting process.

Dragon Phoenix Pearls: this is an artisan tea, hand rolling the green tea leaves by and, a bud and two leaves, into a small ball resembling a pearl. Then it is also crated, until the summer blooming Jasmine can be added for the scenting process.

Jasmine Peach Blossom, and White Jasmine Moon Flowering or Display teas: another artisan Tea specialty that is made by tea growers into peach pit size balls, tied together with string and adding dried flowers into the middle of the ball that will “Bloom”  as you brew them in hot water. A truly beautiful tea for a special day.
